It is with great honor and privilege I introduce to you Style 4, the well-fitted career appropriate knit.
I had strongly objected to the concept of including knits as part of STACKED brand apparel’s product line for years because knits are pretty much all we can wear without spilling out all over the place. And let”s face it, knits are generally boring and too casual for office wear. So knits were out until last fall when I found a knit that I loved. The trim and fabric was beautiful. As expected though, it hung like a tent. I bought it and altered it which not only changed my opinion on knits but also expanded my thinking about fabric shaping. Hence the pleat-dart was conceived.
Granted, these images show the style in a woven because I draft (and redraft and redraft and redraft) then cut and sew (and recut and resew and recut and resew) with cheap muslin because I’m trying to keep costs down. But I can assure you with an elegant fabric pattern and trim Style 4 will be unlike any knit you’ve ever worn.
I have to mention that I LOVE the profile on this, if I do say so myself. It’s feminine and pretty without being too girly.
